The TJTV Tech Crew spent the day at the New York Energy Center this week, where students built and rode two scooters.
In small groups, they found parts, re-assembled scooter components and sorted everything back into the correct bins. By the end, they had two fully functional scooters to take for a spin on site.
“The students weren’t just following instructions, they were solving problems together,” said a museum chaperone. “They learned how to identify parts, troubleshoot fit and function and practice careful break down and storage habits.”
After the build, the group enjoyed lunch together and toured the Energy Zone’s interactive museum. Exhibits highlighted energy production, conservation and innovations which connected their hands-on work to real-world concepts.
It was a day filled with practical STEM learning and plenty of fun. What a memorable experience for the entire TJTV Tech Crew!
