Dear Kernan Elementary Parents/Guardians and Community:

My name is Dominick Timpano and I am humbled to announce that I will be your new building Principal at Kernan Elementary School. I am excited to work with exceptional students, families, and faculty.

My journey in education began in 2006 when I was employed in the Utica City School District as a security guard, home tutor, and Dick Miller Basketball Coach. In 2012, I began my teaching career at Upstate Cerebral Palsy in Rome, NY. In 2013, I was hired in the Vernon Verona Sherrill School District as a Special Education Teacher. Throughout my 9 years at Vernon Verona Sherrill I worked in 8:1:1, 12:1:1, 15:1:1, and Resource programs at both the elementary and middle school levels while continuing my coaching career at Utica Notre Dame, Holland Patent, Clinton, New Hartford, and VVS.

My goal is to maintain open communication with all parents and guardians. In doing so, we will constantly strive tonurture growth in our young students and futureleaders. We will work tirelessly to ensure our students attend school daily and receive a strong education from our wonderful staff.
