The Utica City School District held their second 7th Grade Career and Technical Education (CTE)/STEM Expo, on May 21st and 22nd, 2025, at SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Wildcat Field House!
The two day event was designed to introduce UCSD 7th grade students from JFK and Donovan Middle Schools to the district’s new CTE pathways, which will launch at Proctor High School in the fall 2025.
In partnership with SUNY Polytechnic Institute and collaboration with over 35 regional industry leaders, the event featured interactive, hands on learning experiences across a wide range of fields! The expo aimed to excite students about the future educational paths that they will have available to them at Proctor High School.
The Expo follows the major expansion project at Proctor that began in spring of 2024 to support the Utica City School District’s growing CTE programming. Once completed, the new facility will house 12 CTE pathways, ranging from advanced manufacturing and skilled trades to health professions, cybersecurity, and finance.
The Expo was a powerful example of how the Utica City School District is preparing our Raiders for bright futures by connecting classroom learning with real world opportunities.
Thank you to SUNY Polytechnic Institute for their incredible hospitality. Thank you to all of our regional industry partners for your unwavering dedication, collaboration, and support of our Raiders - we are grateful for each of you!
